What a boring title! I figured that deliberating on what to name this post was going to be counterproductive, however, so here we are. What exactly has been going on then?
There is far too much to catch up with in its entirety, but suffice it to say that, as per usual, there has been a lot that has happened over the past nearly three years. I have moved twice since last September. I am now consequently out of the toxic living environment touched on in my last post, which is a wonderful thing, to say the least. I have a lot of things to work through as a result of past conditioning, but things are looking up overall.
My other half and I have been together for a little over three-and-a-half years now, and we still haven’t had the opportunity to meet physically. That is going to change in May. This is a particularly major highlight for reasons that are difficult to articulate right now, but it really has been a long time coming. I’ve come to the conclusion that it is well past time I start actually living, and this is going to be a great experience.
Regarding this blog, I’ve come to the definite conclusion that I’m not going to actively pursue publicity and visibility. This is supposed to be a non-stressful endeavor, and there are far too many people these days that focus on visibility for the sole purpose of monetization for my liking. I couldn’t honestly care less about making money from what goes up here. The purpose of this blog is simply to share experiences and provide a little uplift to someone’s day. Whoever happens to find these pages finds them. I’ll be sharing these posts myself on Mastodon and updating WordPress settings to allow people to share there as well, along with the other social media platforms I’ve set up.
For those who are not aware, Live Journal is a blogging platform that has fairly recently come back from the dead. Live journal has some concepts that I personally find intriguing, not the least of which happens to be the ability to include your mood in a post. I have decided that I’d like to start implementing this idea for my own posts, as I seem to have difficulty identifying and articulating the current emotions I’m feeling at any given moment other than the basics (happy/sad/angry/scared). Furthermore, I listen to Spotify a lot and often use music to express things I have difficulty articulating. In addition to including a mood, I’d like to start including whatever song that has caught my attention for whatever day I happen to be posting. Hopefully this will make things a little more interesting.
Speaking of interesting, I’m pretty sure there will be people who find this blog particularly unattractive due to the lack of visual variety. The thing is, as a blind person, I really don’t have the inclination to procure images for everything. Yes, this is me justifying the crap out of how I’m doing things. This said, if you don’t appreciate what you’re seeing, there are always other sites for you to visit that have far more eye candy.
Tangent aside, I hope to be posting more often here. Granted, that’s setting the bar pretty low, given how long it’s been since my last post. I think though, whatever the case, I’m done apologizing for delays. I’ll post when I feel like posting, as always.
Mood: Hopeful.
Song for today:
